  • OBD Reader for Surf - Which One?

    Hi folks,

Can anyone here point me towards a diagnostic code reader for a 1992 Surf? I have a reader and reset tool for later vehicles but not for something so old. I notice there is a diagnostic socket on the nearside inner wing, so I am assuming there is a tool to read/reset ecu codes? Ive seen there is a "blink test" that can be performed, but I would prefer to use a reader.

Has anyone any experience with a good but affordable diagnostic tool? If so what brand and where can I locate one?

    Thanks

I use this one: I prefer not to blink when using it too - might miss something...

I have a spare one that I do not need (came with my last BMW - same equipment is used on BMWs to reset servicing lights).

I was going to list it on EBay, with instructions for use for £25. I could offer to sell it to you now, but I won't infringe the site's "Items for sale" rules!

PM me for quick sale, before you figure out how to use the search function.

Do they do one for vehicles this early? I thought odb readers were for 2000 + vehicles with a 16 pin plug, unless they are manufacturer specific like BMW
My brakes dont work, so i made the horn louder.
