thanks Nev, this will do perfect, do you have a link for the head gasket torque specs and sequence? i have done somee reading and found that Lucky has removed the sump by lifting the motor , i would assume that i would have to undo the engine and trans mount to accomplish this?, thanks again

ok so after a few phone calls i have decided to pull the engine, i will remove the engine with a hoist, then will mount the engine on a stand to work on it, then i will hoist the head assembly off, any tips on removing the engine? want to make this as painless as possible, only have 3 days to complete.
2.4 with an auto transmission, figure i will remove the bolts on the torque converter, remove all the electrical, radiator and shroud, any coolant hoses, fuel lines and remove the ac lines, would the starter need to be removed im not sure, so please any tips would be appreciated.

The diff is 3 bolts, 2 wires and 2 vacuum hoses, then undo the driveshafts from the diff flanges, its far easier than pulling the motor out.
The Bellhousing bolts and torque converter-flex plate are a real PITA to get to.
If you do pull the donk, take the head off first, then you can reach the top bellhousing bolts and starter motor easier.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...
