2.4 non turbo

Can anyone help ?
I have been offererd a 2.4 non turbo from a hiace. Is this compatible with my surf ie. is it the same motor and can I swap the manifold and fit my turbo, air con etc. They are both 1991.

You will need the ECU as there is no CRANK sensor STEVO or ELVZ are the best to ask about this one

Is there not a time when you can throw your ECU over the hedge and put in whatever !!!!!! engine fits ! ?

Manual transmission 2LT's up to mid 1990 don't need an ECU to run but all automatics and all LT-E models need a working ECU to be drivable.

I love old diesel trucks, simple and easy to patch up, everything linked by hardware not software. We use 2 Scanias in full time use, an '86 82M and an '89 93H and they are great.

Hope the Hiace engine is a runner, electrics suck.
