i noticed a diesel smell as i got out of the surf yesterday but it was put down to a mates pajero next to mine anyhow this morning i had a small journey to do about five miles and when i returned to the surf there was a small puddle of diesel i've had a look and it looks like its the seal under the pump top now where can i get a seal kit and is it similar to do as the bosch rotary pump fitted to the peugeot/citroen diesel (xud engine) as i know that bosch allowed the injector pump to be made under licence by different manufacturers and put their own name on it or is there an easy fix that means leaving the pump in situ and just being able to remove the pump top to replace the seal as i can't afford to have the truck of the road as its used every day

ok just an update i've done the forum search and come up with using atf as a swelling agent for the seals as a few members have used this as a "get you going" repair i've opted for that until the seals arrive from milners i just hope its not a complete PIA to do in situ as it looks like its just the top seal thats leaking so i'm going for that first and then if not can the distribution head seal be done by just bringing the head out far enough to get at the o'ring and just slide the new one over the head to save disturbing the settings???? any info will be gratefully recieved as i'm familiar with the bosch mechanical pump and that can be done this way but as i'm new to the denso pump i just wondered if anyone could verify thisI'M ALWAYS IN THE SH'T, IT'S ONLY THE DEPTH THAT VARIES!!!!!!!!

Be extremely careful when undoing the nut for the speed sensor. The sensor has plastic bits inside which can (and often do) break.

cheers nev thats just the info i was looking for but after the atf trick it seems to be holding at the moment so fingers crossed it'll be ok til the seal kit arrives as i don't like the idea of leaking diesel on the road as i used to ride motorcycles and i've seen enough of the lads go down because of dieselI'M ALWAYS IN THE SH'T, IT'S ONLY THE DEPTH THAT VARIES!!!!!!!!
