Mystery Hose

I've noticed a small 10mm-ish hose coming up between the rad and the coolant expansion tank. It's not connected to anything, but it's got a plastic barbed connector on the end as if it should connect to something.

I've gone back over some pics I took while everything was in bits, and I think this is where the other end of it goes...



Splits into two. What is it and where should it go?

Bound to be something obvious!

They're just breather hoses for the two fans on top of the air-con rad. It terminates near the expansion bottle if I remember.
