Pretty much. I'd fill it with ATF or some kind of fuel treatment thing though.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Yep, fill with ATF or Redex before putting it back on and rub a bit of oil around the seal.
Only do it hand tight so theres less swearing when trying to remove it next time

if the old filter is tight, I get round it by slipping the pipes off and up ending it on the bracket - much more get at able
Did I mention I have a BLUE one

i changed mine the other week, dropped off the 2 hoses, clamped the one going to tank, took out filter, put bracket into vice and used a oil filter socket on it, popped of, no hassle,

then rubbed a bit of oil on seal of new filter and filled with redex, and a drop of white spirits, to fill filter as i had no diesel lying around, tightened up filter put back in and connected 2 hoses, cranked the engine and off it went.....

now to do my long put off body lift :P

That's way too tight. What if something happens and you have to change it at the side of the road?

It doesn't need to be very tight, just 'nipped' up by hand.
