  • Overfueling???????????????

Hi Guys, I've got a problem with my Surf and I think it's overfueling.
I've just replaced seals on the injector pump and now I've put it back on the motor. When I start it it smokes something rotten as if its burning fuel, clouds of smoke. So if it is overfueling please let me know, and how to correct it as it's undrivable as it is.
    Thanks Dave.

try turning the spill control valve screw anti-clockwise, i sometimes have to wind mine in to get it to start and it smokes realy bad then aswell, so i just turn it 4 turns back and after a short blast round the block the smoke stops hope this helps

      Sorry, but that's bad advice.

The spill control valve is (should be) a set and forget thing, if you have to do anything with it to start your truck, something else is very wrong.

Replacing the seals will not affect the spill control valve setting. The OP has posted elsewhere that his smoke is white, indicating incorrect timing.
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

absolutly right, there should be no need to touch the spill control valve, so dont try it. Over fueling is normally black smoke, unburnt fuel, are you loosing any coolent mate?

If the only thing you've done is take the pump out to replace the seals, you've not timed it right whem you put the belt back on.
