Engine Swap

Hi Guys, I spent alot of time watching the different threads and looking for solutions to my problems but now i need some direct advice if possible. I have a 2l-t motor in my 1990 surf, the head has gone and i have tracked down a motor that will do me for now. i just need to know if the 2l-t from an older surf (the 2 door modle with fibre glass canopy) is posible to do a straight exchange for my newer one. The motor im looking to put in looks very diferent in the head/rocker cover? Thanks for any advice!!!

if that engine has an alloy rocker cover it wont fit, i have a very good 2.4 that will fit your surf, i will swop for the older engine if you know its history

that would be great! but freight would be insane!... I have been told that the motor will fit only a few adjustments and wires to be change... any one who knows what or how to over come them would be a great help to me. Thanks.
