Turbo and radiator relationship help!!

changed radiator on my 2.4td no leaks anymore which is good but the turbo is not working anymore, the light does not come on on the dash (it always did) sounds like its whizzing away but the truck is gutless= as I found out in a big way in snowdonia, everyone behind me on steep inclines not happy.
Is their some thing I should have done when i changed the rad? is their any relationship ? sorry for the ignorance. I have got to tow a load this weekend and not looking forward to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers Bushwacker, Sorted the problem it was a small pipe that had come off the small white filter pipe I probably caused it when changing airfilter. I can now tow with confidence.
