            you've reached the maximum allowable mileage on the truck.

            You'll need to re-register it with the DVLA to receive the reset code...

              You need to tell us what truck you have before we can help with broken things.

                    if theres a pin at the bottom of the dial (at 0 mph) then its electronic pickup if not then its mechanical

                    and thats all i know about that....

                      So it does. As Gordon said, is it mechanical or electronic? Either way, my initial diagnosis was correct. It's broken.

                      Take it out, have a look at the PCB (if it's electronic), maybe one of the tracks is burnt out. Otherwise, get a new one from a breaker.

                        hello,

                        still not solved my problem.

                        just to clarify;

                        mileage is stuck on 128,666 and this was the recorded mileage on the last mot in march

                        the trip meter not cloking up either.

                        speedo working fine.

                          Try pressing the reset button for the timing belt light, it may not have been pressed fully when the belt was last changed and the sprockets in the odometer aren't meshing properly.

                          I guess you're going to ask where the reset button is now aren't you?

                              it just means that you will have a pretty low mileage Surf for years...
                              nah seriously does it bother you that it does not work?
                              Mine stopped working on the grey Surf but I never bothered doing anything about it....
                              One day at the time I guess..
