fuel pump rebuild/install in cornwall?

Right i have a j plate 2.4td surf, i've always had a small problem with not starting from stone cold,had it checked over,glow plugs replaced fuel lines checked and pressure tested etc and been told it was probably the fuel pump seals starting to wear out, not really a problem as on second atempt always started and still does but now i seam to have lost power,especially noticeable when towing and also mpg is suffering so im guessing its now time to get it out and looked at?is there anything else that can be checked?injectors cleaned?-how easy are they to get to?

also where near redruth,cornwall can i get the work done,any recomendations or people here that could help me?i dont mind getting my hands dirty but i think this one is beond my experiance,cheers rob

Rob there is a diesel specialist out at Cardrew ind est and i think they are called Richard Brothers.If you go into the ind est from drump road end then as you drive through you should see them

yeah i know them but did not wanna spend £50+vat an hour having them do it!

Diesel bob is a bout £200 plus post if i remember rightly and thats resealed with Viton (veg proof ) seals

Have the exact same problem with my surf!!! Toying with idea of replacing pump of seals but have no idea where is best to get it done or how much to expect to pay!! Seals are only £11 from roughtrax but how long would a specialist take to do it?

It will be interesting to see how this thread pans out!
