  • whine on acceleration and deceleration

Hi all, my truck has developed a whine starting at a high pitch and getting higher on acceleration and the reverse occurs on deceleration, I thought it may be the turbo but revving the engine at stand still does'nt give any whine, it's driving fine and no other symptoms are present, I'm not 100% sure if it's been there all the time or it's just a recent thing, any help please
    Ta.

It's most likely a split or dislodged rubber hose on or before the turbo. The rubber gets hot and brittle from the engine heat and they can crumble where the clips hold them on..

p.s. Unless you're revving the engine to at least 2000 rpm, the turbo won't be boosting.
