heads off ,no visible cracks

should i take it to be pressure tested .
i've taken it off because there's oil [lots of] in the water and i can only think its the head or gasket,

Not sure if it's a pressure test they do for cracks but definatly get it looked at now it's off.

you could do with having the head tested for cracks there are different methods used for this the one common way is a blue liquid which coats the head & seeks out any cracks after a while you can physically see the cracks

what if its cracked in side somewhere.
i dont even know if it is the head so i dont want to buy a new one and then find out it was a seal in the turbo
the head has been off before if this means anything

Its worth getting it checked out anyway. cast heads usualy crack not warp. alloy heads usually warp.

i assumed it was a cracked head because of all the surfs with this curse
and nobody has told me it could be anything else
