Erratic oil gauge?

Afternoon.

Just driving the surf (2nd gen 2.4 ssrg) this morning and noticed the oil gauge needle moving up the dial (towards H) when I accelerate, and immediately back down when I slow down or take my foot off the gas. Any ideas? I've only had it a few weeks and it's going in for a service on Monday, but I just want to be forewarned!

It's supposed to do that. Should be (around) a third of the way up on idle and about two thirds to three quarters when driving. It may be a little higher at the moment due to the cold weather. If it goes right to the top or drops off the bottom you have problems, but it sounds like you're fine at the moment.
