there are two small pipes that comes from the bottom of the radiator and go into the auto gear box. what are they for? if it oil once the radiator is put back in do i have to top up the oil in the gear box?

Yes, oil pipes. The auto fluid is cooled in the bottom part of the rad.
Check the fluid level once the radiator is back on.
When checking make sure the engine is running and that you have cycled through the gears several times.My other cars a QUAD
