Do i have an EGr on my 2.8D non turbo

If the answer is yes, can i remove it ? Or just disable it ?. It seems to be a bit smoky under load.

Also is it true the 2.8D has a stell head and therefore non of the headgasket issue of the 2.4TD?

The 2.8 heads are used to replace cracked 2.4 heads.
Dunno if yours has the EGR valve, but black smoke under load or hard acceleration is normal for 'old skool' diesels.

There's no EGR on the 2.8 diesel. Smokey could be the fuel pump neds some TLC or injectors need a service.

Would that be somthing any mechanic could do or do i need to take it to some sort of diesel / 4x4 specialist. I havent got a clue when it somes to diesels
