  • indicator light puts high load on alternator/battery

    Hi Guys,

Got a problem with my 1993 SSR-x model. Whenever I switch on the indicator light (right side) the battery guage oscillates like crazy no matter if the engine is on or off. Plus the interior/dash/indicator lights become really dim. It's only on the right side, left one is ok. What could be the problem?

    Cheers,

    Im in the same boat!!

Hasn't caused any issues so i chose to ignore it!!

Be interested to see the answer.

Both my batterys are pretty new an are both fine.

      Re

I would guess it's most probably a gauge issue rather than the indys actually putting load on the batteries.

Maybe a short or loose connection!

Maybe a bad earth to a light on this side or it could be the indicator module located behind dash about in line with the top door hinge.

Deffo a bad earth, remove indy lamp and clean bulb & holder contacts, then body earth contacts. This should cure it, hope this helps.
If it aint broke, keep goin' till it is.
