Well Thanks Marky I think you have solved the problem. I missed the last link to the pic you posted last night. I looked at it this morning and the hose that is highlighted with red dots is the bit I asked about (if it connected to anything) anyway I have just checked it and yep that hose is missing from the pressure switch to the manifold (must have fallen off). I am gonna look around today to see if I can get one from somewhere and hopefully problem solved. I will let you know. Thanks to all you guys for your help you are stars. I know I have a few more problems like a/c so I will have to post again. I will let you know how I get on thanx again.

Well fitted a new hose and now the turbo light comes on at 2500rpm tried it out and everything seems fine ....getting up to 90mph now so looks like its fixed....thanks again everyone

I have just bought a 1993 Hilux 2.4 Auto I must admit I dont know very much about them. I was just reading on here that the turbo light should come on at 2500 or so revs. I checked mine and although the light comes on with ignition it does not come on at all while running, also when I was driving it back from purchase it was very slow to pick up and the max speed on a level road is approx 75mph on the Motorway I was getting about 80mph flat out. Is this normal for this vehicle? I would be grateful for any help on this.

Yeah, mine was exactly the same when I bought it!! It was the vacuum hoses not clamped properly after new timing belt was put on. After the mechanic sorted that out it flew, and the light started working again.
