hi, had this rattle since iv had the surf, now got other problems out the way
been proding and pocking under the motor, all seems tight, how much slack is on the chain that pulls the spare wheel up under the boot? can it be that,

hi, mud skipper fitted new brackets for me, all seems tight,

oh and there shouldnt be any slack on the chain it should be tight.otherwise the spare will be loose.

spare seems tight, back under i go bl@@dy rattle, get one thing sorted then here we go again.

will check ta, dont no if rattle is front or back now been out with a mate he says front, it gets better o joy,

propably front exhaust section then,from the down pipe to the flexy.

Front rattles

Try moving the front upper and lower bump stops by hand took me ages to find the rattle, waterpump pliers and a spanner are needed.

cheers chaps, exhaust bracket on down pipe got taken off some time back as it made hell of a rattle, made a lighter one up cured that, will check bump stops, done a search on rattle bronze bushes came up, oh my god, but mines a light metalic type rattle fingers crossed.

Also check OIL FILTER cover on offside inner wing.

also the turbo heat shields.

oil filter get at hole ok, aint got no turbo heat shield tw@t garage lost it when they done the head, lots to look for in the morning,
