The cost probably about £1000 from a previous thread statement.

      Intercooler

Is a 4Runner motor not the same,as these are intercooled?
You can take my 4x4 from me when you prize the keys from my cold, dead hand.

4Runner is either 3 Litre Diesel or 3 Litre V6. Only the late 3rd Gen 3 Litres are Intercooled.

        Cheers

The 3rd Gen petrol 4Runner had a lovely 3.4lt V6, a far better motor than the 3.0 V6's, with which you can get supercharged by TRD and others. The TRD (Toyota Racing Developments) was fully warrenty friendly and could be dealer fitted or DIY.

Unfortunatly, harder to find than hens teeth over here, Elvz is the only person I know who played with superchargers in there surf, but it had a lot of other mods as well.

If its more power that you want why not try

They can chip engines and do other gadgets, a mate of mine who works in developement for Bentley Motors has tested their kits and rates them very highly

Hello. Intercooling the 2.4L is not such a difficult thing. I have just chipped mine with a dieselbob chip and fitted a mazda RX7 intercooler. Just have a look : http://groups.msn.com/toyotasurf/kev...picson24l.msnw

If you need help just let me know.

                regards

you should be able to DIY fit an intercooler in variety of ways and finishes on a budget of £200 max.

i've got my bits as follows just waiting to go on

                    RX7 intercooler £50 ebay
WRX scoop and vents £31 ebay
                    various elbows/hoses £5 local s$$$$py
                    paint £40

my total (excluding what i'm gonna charge myself for labour ) £126

others (vince ) will probably manage it on £50!!!!!

if you do it there isn't a chance of damage as far as i'm aware, and i can't see how, even in the worst of circumstances of luck, that any damage could be incurred as a direct result of fitting an intercooler, so do a little research, hunt around here, ebay, local s$$$$pies and go to local boy racer cruises, give the little gits in their wonderful novas a slap and nick some of their gizmos for the peace of all, and go for it!!!
i swear, it was like that when i got here...

Yes its an impreza vent. The parts dont cost alot its labour that will cost a fortune.to fit that intercooler you will have to modify the ports on the inercooler.you will have to close the one on the site and open another one in one of its corners.welding was expensive but worth every penny when finished.
