when i start the car the turbo light comes on but for some reason fails to come on whilst driving and theres not much power.

Check the hose from manifold under the throttle body which goes to the turbo sensor on the filter housing. It's probably fallen of or needs replacing. Wish I had a dollar for every time I've said this.
