  • Any one knows what this round button is for?

I've got a round button just below the IDLE UP button. It is next to the immobilizer contact pad and I suspect it might have something to do with it since all other buttons in the car are rectangular.

    The car is 1992 2nd generation SURF SSR-X 2.4TD 2L-TE.
See the picture below and have your say. Thanks

        unknown buton

the button is definately your rear fog control, my set up is exactly the same. the round switch is the standard switch used when fitting a foglight for the SVA test when the vehicle was first imported.

          Thanks both of you

You were both right. I did not think about that because the car has a standard fog light button in the midle of the central console but when I tried it it did not seem to do anything. May be they are not connected on the Japanese spec car and the button is just there as General Issue. It must be connected on the US, OZ or NZ specs...

That would be for your fogs, think you need to get your meter out and check it out.

The switch on the centre console is a pre fitted one for front fogs, mine has the same setup but the front fog switch is not connected to anything!

If that is the rear fog - what is the one further down for (as thats where my fog light switch is - for when I had one)
How can I be lost when I've got no where to go

if you have a fog/spot switch in the centre console then you will possibley find a plug down by each front headlight, thats for your fog/spots, only live with side/heads on......

the blank's to fill the hole where the idle up would go if it was the screw type some of the early one's had rather than the switch.

if it's that low down an arsey MOT tester could fail it for there not being a warning light in the driver's area of vision for the rear fog.

Umber Light on Upper Steering Column (Thank you all for your good answers)

Taking good advantage of your photo, do you know the purpose of the umber light on the upper steering column, the one on the right hand side? Mine is constantly turned on!
