hi brought surf was told i would need a new thermostat due to the temperature guage not moving just tried new thermostat to no avail could anyone possibly help me please

burp the system to check for any air locks in the system then go from there.Mine takes about 3 or 4 mins to get up to running temp about halfway on the gauge

If the needle isn't moving at all it is probably the sender.

Check the wiring going to and from for breaks etc.

Mine did the same and I got a second hand sender from a hilux 2.4 pick-up in a scrappie, cost £3.00.

Put it in and it worked great, better than before even!

Remember, if you are replacing it to cut the wires so as to give yourself enough spare to join them again.

(I speak from experience!)

I good clean with some wire wool on the brass does it a lot of good as well!

just tried fit the part i ordered but it seems to be wrong i've just tried remove what i think is the sender and it snapped due to being rotten inside can anyone tell me if i got the right part here it looks a bit like glow plug and sits at the front of the thermostat housing any help would be appreciated cheers

what truck have you got Soup cause if you got a 2.4 and cant get the sender out or whatever then i have the complete cover with senders in on the breaker if you need it ...just make an offer

Temperature Gauge Sender is on the side of Thermostat Housing. The one toward front is Thermo Fan Switch.
