Red light then no turbo?

Hi Everyone, I'm looking for some help please? My 2.4 Hilux Surf, runs fine for about an hour then the red check engine light comes on and the turbo stops working? Of course when i take it to the garage it doesnt happen! Can you tell me what the problem might be so I can advise them on how to fix it please? Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Do a search for "fault codes" and you'll find the info, I don't know about them, as my surf doesn't have an ECU.
