Hi,
just bought another 2.4 manual surf with a suspect engine - slight rattle on tick over possibly from small end bearings. I guess this was caused by poor maintenance as when I took it home and tried to change the oil it was like tar. Done an engine flush and have done an oil pressure test which seems to be ok. I would like to drop the sump off to look at the small end bearings and change them. Question is can this be done with the engine in place or does it need to come out?
