The truck starts eventually, does it? if its just a pig when its cold then glowplugs seems favourite... When It does go (if it does go...) is it running ok? If its just sitting there spinning over and never starting, then it could be the timing belt... Whats your neighbour say about it? was it starting ok for him?
      it's in me shed, mate.

Hi Chillitt, the truck only starts with some easy start. If I try to start it without, the battery runs down very quickly and I have to re-charge before I can start it again. It fires up first turn of the key with easy start and runs fine all day long. I can start it up easy for the rest of the day, but next morning, same thing. Neighbour assured me it was ok, he only used it for towing a caravan and although he had problems starting it, he got it going after a few tries. He did not seem to have battery trouble. The batteries do need replacing though, they are old and one looks to be too small. My husband is still nagging me and telling me the engine is knackered. He thinks I am wasting my time (and his), It sounds stupid, but I get really upset when he goes on at me about the truck......I would love to get it fixed and stick him with two fingers!!

That definitely sounds like glow plugs( or the fuse) then. should be fairly cheap to fix. Hubby should be delighted...

great advice from everyone, thanks. I did suggest using WD40 to the other half, but he just laughed and said I didn't know what I was talking about!!???.......perhaps I'm not so stupid after all........thanks for your offer of help Chillit, any help is better than none at all.....I am feeling much happier about the problem now and will sleep like a baby tonight.......
