  • tyre size questions

    Hi Knowledgeable Folks,

ive got standard 15" Toyota alloys on the Sub at the moment, wearing Landair 265/70/15 tyres.

    so, thats 10.4" width
    70% of 10.4 = 7.28" height
    15" rims
    15"+(7.28"x2)=29.56" overall tyre/wheel height.

Ive got wheel arches on the truck. Its not lifted.

I need to replace 2 tyres urgently, and 2 more 'soonish'

What tyre sizes can these rims take?

What do I need to do to take wider or bigger boots?

I have heard that 33's on a 2.4 are not the way to go.

    advice pleeeze

Hey Andy, wher've you been? You got a mention in the 'who haven't we seen in ages' thread. I thought I'd scared you off with rants about councils but I suspect children maybe the more likely culprit.

Quick answer is 31x10.5x15 will fit. You'll need a lift to get anything bigger on.

Yes, 10.5 month old Jenna is the culprit, so spot on Mr Sancho, Sir.

I have lurked a bit, but toooooooo much other stuff to do in the evenings to comtemplate giving the wife MORE ammunition.... she thinks I spend too much time on my own interests as it is!

Anyhow, MOT picked up the near-legal (near-illegal?) front boots, so I can browse legit. at present.

Anyhow, ta for the info (and the mention) - 31/10.5's it is then.

The back end is a bit saggy, so I might go for LC springs at the same time.

Anyone know of any extended shocks with the hard/soft option?
