Drivers side wing mirror

Hi all

Some **** knocked my drivers side mirror while I was parked and I cant get the glass to sit back into the mirror, I have taken the whole assembly out as it has electric mirrors and I just cant get it to sit back into the assembly!

Any idea's what im doing wrong as iv now spent 2 hours to trying to pop it back but to no avail, nothing seems to have snapped or broken.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that, im not sure this will work though as I am trying to get the glass and the holder back in, the glass hasn't broken it has just come away from the electric side of things, how ever the 2 motor prongs that move the mirror are still connected. So just need to pop the glass and holder back in but cant seem to get it fair enough back!
