Just last weekend got my 2.4td back from my mechanic, complete with new head and cambelt, so have been able to take it out on our first decent run, so we went from Canvey Island in Essex up to the National Indoor Areana in Birmingham. The car was fully topped up on leaving home, and we made it up there and back on a tank, which I clocked as 500km or around 310 miles, just wondered what other Surf owners were getting on a full tank on a long journey. we didnt thrash it, just stayed steady between 60 to 70 mph. Waved at another Surf owner as we passed him in the Luton area on ther M1!
What is the full capicity of a tank on a Surf, then I can work out my mpg.

When I was working out my mpg, i figured I got around 55 Gallons in my surf... if that sounds wrong, then 55 litres, I can't remember which... but it was 55 something....
I'm getting around 25mpg......but probably moves up to 30 on a run....

The only time you'll get 55 gallons in it is if you are pulling a BP tanker behind you

Mines about 55 or 60 litres... better plan is to fill the tank to full again and see how many litres you have to put in...

Well, 55 ltrs works out to 12.10 gallons, so using that based on 310 miles works out to 25 mpg, so sounds like were running about right. Thanks
