Alternator part number

Can anyone help with this one.

I got my alternator changed a while back.
I dont have the original one and neither do they. Thats the problem. The one they replaced it with was not the right one, they bodged it to fit and it that caused loads of problems.

Anyway i need to get the right one. Its the older style with vacuum pump at the back and also the voltage regulator built in. Also the elec plug is round not square like the other.
I dont think its made anymore as i can only find new ones with the vacuum at the front.

If anyone knows the part number of this one then please help

27020-54410 4/89 to 8/89 and 27020-54411 8/89 to 8/90. Does that help?

not realy man, maybe, mine was made in 92. I just know the vaccum pump should be on the back and have the voltage regulator inside.

After 8/90 they all seem to be front mount. Post your model and frame numbers so I can look up the specific alternator yours should have.

I see you recently changed engines. If this is the case then do you have an engine from an earlier model? Like I said the alternators changed around 8/90 so working out which you should have may be difficult.

Found Them Pics ....

1/ My 1990 Surf (7) sticker on the Alternator (Pump on Rear)
2/ Later Surf Model (Pump on the front)
3/ One I had of Sumo, believe 1989 had a (5) sticker on it "Comparison" (Pump on Rear)
