EFI Model

Can anyone tell me if there is a fuel pump adjustment screw on the EFI model surfs? If there isn't, how can I do such an adjustment to reduce fuel flow and smoke?

Have you carried out the EGR modification yet mate?

do a search on it, Would be wise if you have a lot of smoke.

Will be doing that tomorrow but dont think it will reduce it enough to get through the MOT, just heard a lot about the fuel pump adjustment so got all set to do it then was told I have the EFI model so it hasn't got one.

I thought it was the other way round, only the EFI does have it???

I hope this is true so hopefully it will save me a bit of money. Can anyone clarify if this is true, that the EFI has got the adjustment screw?

Yes it has but play with it at your own risk. It's under the cap on top of the Spill Control Valve. There is some info on the Aussie site about what some have done to adjust. I wouldn't go playing with the EFI pump. Get it wrong and the pump will have to be removed and recalibrated.

I adjusted the screw today and also done the EGR mod but now it sounds like it has been fitted with a dump valve, sounds pretty cool but not sure if its right, I only adjusted the screw very slightly to try and stop the smoke.

As you look down on it anti clockwise leans the fuel out. You should mark the screw with tippex so you can return it to the original position, if you need to.

alot of the forum pages etc were lost when the server/ forum got hacked a little while back and most of the info from before a certain date has been lost so it's a case of people trying to get new info put back up again
