2.4 or 2.8 how to tell (if you can)

when i bought my surf i was told the head had been fixed ! ! !
in amongst the receipts i found one that detailed all the work done ! ! !
it states !!!!!! ....... NEW HEAD SUPPLIED BY CUSTOMER !!!!
is there a way i can identify what the replacement head is ie 2.4 or 2.8 ! ! !

any advice much appreciated ! ! !

Unfortunately not. There is no external visual means of determining if it has the early/2.4 or late/2.8 head. The only differences are in the internal waterway wall thicknesses.
