Steering Locks after hitting water

Searching for more answers! 2.4 surf steering is locking so unable to turn after going through water (not even deep water, just large road puddles) - Is this just a case of greasing required or could it be more serious? Any answers or hints much appreciated!!!

Does it lock or just become VERY hard to turn?

Does it get better after a few mins?

If so probably the belt to the power steering pump is slipping when wet. Mine does this if it gets very wet, just not got to round to sorting out.

no it actually locks up so you cant turn any further - the belt makes sense so i'll get that checked out before the MOT in 2 weeks... ...thanks mate.
