    Hi all
hope you had a good xmas and new year

I hope you can help me ive had my surf for about a month now its a 2.4 auto, but from the first day i got it and the only way i can explain it is the clutch seems to be sliping. when i pull away normaly the revs go to about 2500just to pull away is this normal?
the reson i ask is i drive artics for a living and a few are autos and they never seem to get above 2000 revs even at full speed and loaded. hope someone can help.

    Cheers

    Check your transmission fluid

2500 sounds a bit high, first thing to check is transmission fluid level. It's the orange dipstick and should be checked warm and with the engine running in Park, after a drive, stop, select park then cycle through P-R-N-D-2-L-2-D-N-R-P a couple of times with your foot firmly on the brake, stopping in each position for a second or two, then check the level. If the level is good check the colour, it should be a rich reddy brown colour, if it's more brown than red and smells burn't it's worth draining and refilling with fresh DEXRON II/III ATF.
