  • 2l-t noise. piston?

Hello, i have a land cruiser II (bundera in some countries) originally with a 22r swapped for a 2l-t.
recently had fuel leaking from injector pump, a pump specialist repaired it and when put it back together there were no more leaking but an engine jingleling (rough stroke), getting louder when you accelerate. plus heavy white smoke at start up and idle.
thought it was something wrong with the pump, calibration, not in the dot or something but everything was ok.
any suggestion?? a piston? rod bearing?

    thanks.

    greetings from patagonia, chile.

Hi and welcome, it sounds more like he's got the pump timing slightly out, so I'd take it back and get him to double check it,
it's unlikely to develope serious mechanical faults just by having the pump out, it may also be the timing belt one tooth out.

Check this link, third p from the bottom is the Toyoa technicians manual for the 2LT, it's a big file and will take time to download ( 10 mins maybe) but it's got all the tech stuff on how to set the pump up.

    Still working for the man!

Sounds like diesel knock caused by injection pump timing to far advanced.
