  • radiator popped its tank

I have just changed the radiator on my 2.4 1992 surf, the top tank had pushed apart, not sure when though?

what causes it to do this? is it the dreaded head?

The rads are not very strong in the Surfs . The header tank is particularly thin metal and cracks and leaks .

To be on the safe side just bought a new rad cap from Milners, It is rated at 0.9 bar.

The old header tank was distorted, the rad guy said it must have seen some pressure?
