  • Changing Injectors

    Hi guys & girls,

I've tried all sorts of things to settle the surf down to no avail.

    Checked vacuum hoses against Jotto's
    unplugged re plugged everything
    redex'd the fuel pump direct
    Bled thru the fuel filter
    reset the ECU
Ran diag's on the ECU - code 1 - all is well !?)

The car has a lumpy / missing sound from the exhaust and the ehgine feels lumpy / is noisier than it should be So I thought I might change the injectors.

Is there a procedure / or some pictures / hints I can have off any of you ?

    Thanks in advance
    Jim

In theory you can turn over with an injector out and look at the spray pattern, in practice its exceptionally high pressure spray that if it goes in the wrong place will go through your skin and give you blood poisoning, if not worse.
A proper injector test measure the pressure to open the internal valves and examines the spray pattern. If you strongly suspect this it's worth going to a diesel pump specialist to do the tests for you. Ask a local commercial vehicle factors to recommend someone.
    Good Luck
    Adrian
P.S. you haven't tinkered with and pump settings have you?
