leaking diesel pump

i have a leak on the pump coming from the side between the main body and the bit that bolts onto top with 4 hex bolts assuming this is were the return pipe leaves from,it maybe a gasket not sure, i have been told i need an, ep ve kit, i believe the pump is the 5b301 model , im not sure were to get the kit if it has the part i need and can i take the top off the pump without any chance of doing something bad to it i hope you can help me

If its a EFI motor then the top comes off the pump easily, Milners do a seal kit, generally the big o-ring around the lid is the one to change.

If you have a pre-EFI truck (89-90) then its bit more hassle, with the throttle linkage to remove first, and a small spring and rod that needs unhooking from under the lid before you can remove it completely.
