  • finally!!

well guys after all the problems i had with the surf theres now light at the end of the tunnel!! finished off the head today and after blowing the 80 amp glo plug fuse and putting a split in the turbo intake hose it now runs like a dream!!
thanks you guys for all your help and suggestions,it WAS a defective cheap $$$$py imitation head gasket that was to blame (2nd time round lol)
is sounding and running so quiet now, no clips or hoses leaking or over pressurising.
just a couple more questions.... does the 80 amp fuse just pull out, tried levering with a screwdriver and wont budge, managed to get the clear cap off the top and push it together temp till roughtrax delivers new one! and now what do you reckon i should do with the bloke who sold me the gasket set.i know it wasnt listed as genuine but its plainly obvious the bolts/gasket were sub standard.shall i cut my losses and run or kick up a fuss...
cheers again guys (bushwacker, stormforce, ian, mat t,barry at roughtrax and all you other lot)

ps BIG SURF GRIN BACK NOW, AND MADCAMPBELL FIX MY AVATAR LOL

Glad to hear you've got it sorted. I'd, personally, get in touch with the original gasket supplier and tell him that the gasket was naff. At the end of the day, if he plays silly buggers, you can give it up as a bad job, but if he's helpful, you may get refunded. You'll lose nowt by contacting him once, amicably.

no the bar/insulator all put on correctly ,that one was pilot error when i was bleeding the injectors, asked the mrs to turn it over and arced the spanner on the glow plug think i will contact the guy who sold the stuff, i know its partly my fault for trying to skimp on stuff but i would hate for anyone here to get the same c r a p from him i did,but dont want to put the forum in trouble for naming and shaming! how would i go about it,tell him whats happened and ask him his opinion before i take it further?? or go to his adress with a large iron bar
