Front shock absorber

One of my front shockers is covered in oil so i quess it is leaking/ knackered.Is this an easy diy repair or do I need to take to my local grease monkey?:

Check CV Gator to see if the greasy oil is from there 1st

if it is the shock, then its a simple enough affair to change them. just depends on how many beer tokens you want to part with for them. for 35 quid each you can get replacements without the hard/soft settings. i think the adjustable ones are over a hundred each.

Thanks for the advice ,I will have to do some saving then as beer tokens in short supply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
