  • window motors the same

Took out the rear window mechanism on the weekend (tailgate) because the window just stopped working. now finding it a bit hard to get one. toyota want the earth for one so i was wondering if any other toyota/lexus models use the same motor so i can go to the breakers and take it out of a rear window mechanism as they have much less use.

toyota hiace van corolla celica and i think the mr2 also get the passenger side motor. You will probably find that the connecting block on the door motors is differant to the tailgate wire connecting block

there are a couple on ebay at the mo that are ending in the next couple of days

Corrolla ones fit, passenger side only.
Also as an emergency measure you can use either of your own passenger side motor's.

I used the rear n/side untill I found one on ebay, as this is the window I use the least, you will need a bit of 2"x1" timber about 18" long to prop up the window until the motor is replaced.

      Still working for the man!

You can use either side in the tailgate, drivers side you turn round. If you go 90-95 i think some of them changed in 89 but the earlier motors look totally different you'll know it's the wrong one as soon as you see it.
