Engine warning light

Hi Guys, went to start my 92 2.4td this morning and the red engine light next to the turbo light came on and wont go out.
Any ideas?
I know in the manual it says take it to a dealer immediately but is it the kind of thing that can be hooked up to a diagnostic machine at any good garage?
Any help greatly appreciated

do a search on here, diagnostics, engine codes it will show you how to check it out for yourself.

any mechanic who has up to date diagnostic gear will be able to sort it.
fred in the shed possibly not.
