The easiest way to fit/remove it, is to loosen all four hose clips at both ends of the silver tube.

There will be swearing, oh yes!

What do you use to compress the clips?

I used a mole wrench to do the clips on mine.

You should be able to change the pipe in under 5 minutes, it's pretty easy. As mentioned, easiest way it to undo the metal pipe that goes over the engine at both end, and take that out.

so theres two jubille cilps holdin the rubber pipe ...then theres the metal pipe held with 4 hose clips ? remove that then reassemble in reverse?

Yeah, sorry I forgot what they used to be. I replaced all my original hose clips with shiney new Jubilee ones.
