Rear screen heater

FFF....Flippin frosty mornings up here in Edinburgh now.................
and my son's rear screen heater isn't working.
Wondering if there are any specific points to investigate first on Surfs ???
Have had a look at some older posts re usual continuity checks so we will look at these of course.

check the wiring going into the tailgate and the connections that go onto the the window and also check the fuses

The wires break off or corrosion at the connection point of the rear window.
