Odometer stopped working today - help!

Hiya,

Filled up today and reset the mileage clocks as I always do. Set off and noticed that whilst my speedo needle works fine the odometer and the trip odometer have stopped working!

Any suggestions as to why and how to fix?

I think i've read somewhere on here about a wire!!! Can't remember much more though, sorry!

I read a few posts from people in the past who appear to have had the same problem. Nobody posted any fix for it though, or how they fixed it.

If i remember rightly someone was askin about installing a switch into an odometer cable so as to stop the mileage clocking up so they could insure on a restricted mileage policy, i really can't remember any more though. I know some have an electric speedo and some have a cable, but don't know which one's have got what or how the odometers run, i thought they were nearly always linked directly to the speedo somehow.
