  • fuel rail removal

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on removing the fuel rail on my surf? It appears to be secured by 17mm retaining nuts, but when i started undoing them it bent and broke the rail, and i ended up with the injector popping out! Any ideas on how to loosen this nut without breaking the rail??

    Thanks

Only thing I can suggest is to try and hold the injector with a spanner as you undo the spill pipe nut.

hold the banjo with a small pair of moles ..gently and try tightening it a little before undoing, I had a problem, they are rather fragile (but are available from main agents) good luck!

                caution

just one more point, the material is soft so you might raise a burr on the edge of the round parts - this will stop it resealing, check and if needed re-surface the faces on an oilstone or fine file and blow out the oilways!!
(if you have fingers like a pound of sausages, get someone else to do it!!)
