  • turbo help

    got a 2.4 dt the turbo sucks large amounts of fuel at 2000rpm.is there away to get the turbo to start sucking at about 2.5-3000 ish when its needed the mpg seems worse than mates 2.5 td disco or are there any other way of upping my mpg

    yeah - keep it at home

    not sure if you can reduce the boost,i guess theres a fairly easy way.

      Sorry pal,

      2000 RPM is when the turbo kicks in, that how it is.......

      Run it on veg oil and your bills will divide by 3.

        If you could alter the boost then your fuel economy would probably be worse than it is now. Your problems are elsewhere, not with the turbo. Fuel pump, injectors, air filter and a dozen other things can contribute to poor fuel economy. What is your MPG now and does the engine blow black smoke?

          fit an intercooler, that will help.

          or buy a skoda octavia diesel, they're economic.
          i swear, it was like that when i got here...
