Hi all, long time reader 1st time poster

Hope your all ok, as i need some help/advice.......just purchased new front pipe for surf (2.4td 1989/90) and as per usual the last nut that connects the front pipe to the turbo (the one that is a complete nightmare to see) has rounded off and am really stuck trying to get it off any ideas? just to let you know have tried beating a smaller socket onto nut but where there is a heatshield on the front pipe it restricts the angle you can get onto the nut so i think that is the reason i have rounded it off

Is it possible to remove turbo at all with front pipe still attached enough so that i can maybe use oxy to heat nut and use molegrips to remove

any help or advice much appreicated

          What did you do?

My front pipe split/corroded down the seam, I cut out the 90deg section and fitted a new piece of pipe of a larger bore after cutting slots in the end. This was only temporary but seems to work fine for now. It'll need replacing at some point and if I encounter your problem it would be nice to know.

          Thanks.
