    Worn syncromesh, wear in the nylon bush at the base of the gearstick, worn gear linkage, gearbox to bellhousing bolts loose.?

        Because it's fvcked. Take it back.

        Seriously though, probably just wear in the selector mechanism. Not too much to fix. I, for one, wouldn't know how to though.

          It's most likely the plastic bush at the base of the gearstick, a couple of quid to fix...
