Hi my speedo has stopped working,it's mechanical can anybody help please.

thanks, silly question,can you tell me how to replace it please,and where is it situated on the engine? I presume it's connected at the gear box.

Passenger side of the gearbox, you'll see it straight away when you look, as it's thicker than all the other cables.
You'll need to get at the back of the clocks too so start there and make sure the cable is still attatched before buying a new one. Are you sure yours is machanical, what year is your truck? Mine is a late '91 and is electronic, but some '91 trucks are cable speedos.

yes positive it,s mechanical, i believe electric have a stop pin mine has'nt. truck is J 1992

That's strange, mine is a 'J' and the seatbelt label says 1991. I thought that after 1991 the speedos were electronic.

How do i tell if it's mech or electronic apart from the electronics having a stop pin. By the way my truck is a manual gear box. another question for you, how do I change my avater?!!!!
